Senators Dole and Burr Call for a Vote on Boyle
In an editorial today in the Charlotte Observer, Senator Dole (R-NC) calls on the Senate to grant Judge Boyle and up-or-down vote. She accused Democrats of blocking his confirmation to the Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit stating, "They have dragged their feet - and at times dug in their heels - on confirming qualified judicial nominees." She highlights Boyle's impressive qualifications, and describes the recent attacks on his ethics as "a frantic partisan attempt to distract from the merits of his nomination."
Also, the News and Observer reports that Senators Dole and Burr have signed a "Dear Colleague" letter to their fellow Senators calling for a vote on Boyle's nomination, noting that one year has passed since his nomination was referred to the floor.
