The folks over at Confirm Them have put up the vote tally on the Holmes confirmation to fill a 10th Circuit seat. He's in and I hope somebody invites him to his old men only club for a cigar. As I noted below Ted Kennedy attempted to block this fine nomination and as the vote shows, the vast majority of the Democratic Senate caucus is willing to block an African American nominee, even to a court where such nominees have been absent or rare. Congratulations to Judge Jerome Holmes, and congratulations to the Senate. Let's hope we see more of such votes. No holds, no filibusters, no delays. Up or down or we should know the reason why.
