Peter Keisler's Hearing Schedule for Tuesday
The Senate Judiciary Committee has schedule a hearing for Peter D. Keisler, nominee to the Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit. He graduated from Yale Law School in 1985 and clerked for Justice Kenney and for Judge Bork on the DC Circuit.
Since 2003, Keisler served as the Assistant Attorney General for the DOJ Civil Division handling a wide range of issues and overseeing 700 attorneys who represent the United States in federal and state courts. From 2002 to 2003, he served as Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General at DOJ. From 1989 to 2002, Keisler practice law with Sidley Austin Brown & Wood, in Washington D.C. With the Senate's August recess beginning at the end of the week, a confirmation vote will likely not occur until September.
