Judicial Nominees & Recess Appointments
With the Senate in recess, President Bush has an opportunity to recess appoint his long-obstructed judicial nominees. RNLA Vice President for Washington, DC Operations Pat Woodward writes in the October issue of The Republican Lawyer, that the President would be more than justified in making some recess appointments. He particularly advocates for Jim Haynes.
Further, On October 6th, the Raleigh News & Observer reported that Senate Democrats placed another procedural maneuver on Terrence Boyle's nomination requiring the President to re-nominate him again (and presumably others) after the October recess. Boyle has waited for a confirmation vote the longest of any of President Bush's nominees. It's time he receives a recess appointment.
