L.A. Times calls on Democrats to avoid "knee-jerk" opposition to Bush nominees
The liberal leaning Los Angeles Times published an opinion piece calling on Senate Democrats to avoid "knee-jerk opposition" to Bush nominees who are within the legal mainstream. The Times also addressed "Democrats [who] may be tempted to keep judicial vacancies open until after the 2008 election, in hopes that they can be filled by a Democratic president." The article goes on to say, "that sort of obstructionism would be bad for both the Senate and the federal judiciary."
