Four Judicial Nominations on the Agenda

The Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to consider the circuit court nomination of Debra Livingston (Second) and three district court nominations during their business meeting on Thursday, May 3. The district court nominees are Roslynn Mauskopf (ED NY), Richard Sullivan (SD NY) and Joseph Von Bokkelen (ND IN).

The Committee for Justice pressed Senate Democrats to fulfill their promised pace to confirm one circuit court judge a month. In a recent press release, Executive Director Curt Levey asserted, "April has come and gone without the confirmation of any appeals court judges...Sens. Leahy and Reid are well aware that at least one appeals court nominee must be confirmed each month if they are to deliver on their commitment to Republicans to confirm 17 appeals court judges in 2007-08."
