Southwick Confirmation Vote Delayed...
Yesterday, Thursday May 24th, Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee delayed voting on Leslie Southwick, judicial nominee for the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. Democratic Senators stressed that they needed more time to review Southwick's record. Russ Feingold (D-Wis.) said "It is common practice in the Judiciary Committee for controversial nominations to be held over for a week so senators can more thoroughly review the nominees' records and testimony." The vote has been postponed until June 7th. Read more here.
