Washington Post Criticizes Mikulski, Cardin (D, MD) on Judicial Obstruction
A Washington Post editorial writes that politics have trumped qualification again, as Dem. Maryland Senators Mikulski and Cardin have trotted out the usual tired excuses for opposing an outstanding Maryland federal prosecutor's nomination to the U.S. Court of Appeals.
Usually a Mikulski and Cardin ally, the Washington Post comments: "... blocking Mr. Rosenstein's confirmation hearing – as theMaryland senators may yet do – would elevate ideology and ego above substance and merit, and it would unfairly penalize a man who people on both sides of this question agree is well qualified for a judgeship."
