Since June 2001, Peter B. Saba has served in the Bush Administration as the General Counsel of the Export-Import Bank of the United States ("Ex-Im Bank"). Ex-Im Bank is an independent U.S. government agency that helps finance the sale of U.S. exports primarily to emerging markets throughout the world, by providing loans, guarantees, and insurance. Ex-Im Bank supported $12.5 billion in U.S. exports in fiscal year 2001.
Prior to this, Mr. Saba specialized in international and domestic infrastructure project development and finance and other aspects of international trade, investment and finance in private practice with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, in Washington, D.C. From 1989-1993, he served in the George H.W. Bush Administration at the U.S. Department of Energy as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Domestic and International Energy Policy and as Special Assistant (Counselor) to the Deputy Secretary of Energy. Peter Saba is an honors graduate of the University of Virginia and Harvard Law School. |
