I have worked for New Jersey Public Defender as Designated Counsel on an Appellate Criminal Case. This involved writing a complete criminal appeal from start to finish.
I receive cases from the Parental Representation Unit for Child Abuse and Neglect, Termination of Parental Rights cases. I have also been assigned as a Law Guardian for children. This includes trials and motion hearings.
I have worked as a Per Diem Associate doing commercial litigation including Civil Trials, mediation, arbitration, depositions, discovery, motions, and settlement negotiations.
When I was in Law School, I was a legal intern for the Seton Hall Center for Justice Pro Bono Program and the Evening Law Clinic. I assisted in the preparation of a state prisoner §1983 case against the N.J. Department of Corrections. I also did Bankruptcy, Custody, Divorce and Immigration cases. I participated in trials under special rules for third year law students
I was a Judicial Intern for U.S. Magistrate Judge in Newark New Jersey while in law school. I worked on civil cases that were assigned by U.S. District Court Judges to the magistrate Judge. I researched, drafted legal memoranda, letter orders on cases concerning application of federal law. I attended various civil and criminal trials, settlement conferences, detention hearings and motion hearings.
I worked for LEXIS and the law school computer lab. I trained and assisted students and faculty in the use of LEXIS, WESTLAW, and WORDPERFECT.
I retired from the U.S. Postal Service as an MPE Mechanic. I worked for the Postal Service for over Twenty- Five years. The union appointed me as a union steward and various elected offices in the North Jersey Area Local American Postal Workers Union for ten years. I was assigned to represent employees in grievances and arbitrations. I also represented employees in EEO hearings, MSPB proceedings and FECA problems. I negotiated Local Labor Management Agreements with Postal Management. I reached settlements with management on FMLA issues and Privacy Act issues. I designed and modified forms used for grievances and information requests.
I have worked for the Social Security System as a Benefit Authorizer. This position involved the application of Social Security Law to specific beneficiaries and calculating their benefits.
I worked in the Wall Street Securities industry for more than ten years in various positions. This included CUSIP implementation, stock transfer, and Municipal Trading. I was formerly licensed as a Securities Broker in New Jersey and New York.
I am married with two children. |
