Chris Ashby’s litigation practice focuses on matters involving local governments, state agencies and political entities, including land use, zoning, annexation and public utility cases, as well as matters involving federal civil and voting rights statutes, and state and federal election, campaign finance, government ethics, gift, and freedom of information laws.

Mr. Ashby also represents individuals and corporate clients in breach of contract, fraud, intellectual property and other lawsuits.

Prior to joining Troutman Sanders, Mr. Ashby was a speechwriter for Virginia Governor George Allen (1996) and Virginia Lt. Governor John Hager (1998 - 2000), a political consultant, and a senior staff member of two campaigns for Attorney General of Virginia.
