James B. “Jimmy” Franklin
James B. “Jimmy” Franklin is the senior partner of Franklin, Taulbee, Rushing, Snipes & Marsh, P.C. He received his Juris Doctorate in 1964 from the University of Georgia’s School of Law after graduating from Georgia Tech with a B.S. degree in Engineering. In 1966, he entered the practice of law in Statesboro following his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army as a First Lieutenant. The Supreme Court of Georgia recently presented him with the Amicus Curiae Award in recognition of distinguished service and contributions to the administration of justice. Jimmy is not only a highly respected lawyer but a dedicated professional and civic leader. His service includes President, State Bar of Georgia (2001-2002); Secretary, Georgia Trial Lawyers Association, Past President, University of Georgia Law School Alumni Association, Statesboro Jaycees, Statesboro Rotary Club, and the Statesboro-Bulloch County Chamber of Commerce; Past Chairman, Development Authority of Bulloch County and the Georgia Southern Foundation; Past Member of the University of Georgia School of Law Board of Visitors, as well as numerous leadership positions at the Statesboro First United Methodist Church.
