BIO

Dave is a partner in the Dhillon Law Group where he maintains a national civil and white-collar litigation practice and political law practice.  He is the leader of the firm’s political law and white-collar practices and managing partner of the firm’s National Capital Area office in Alexandria, Virginia.  He is a former President of the Republican National Lawyers Association (2019-2020).

Dave has served as lead trial counsel in bet-the-company cases involving billions of dollars and defended businesses and individuals in high profile criminal cases across the country.  He has also argued before several federal appellate courts in both civil and criminal cases.  Many of his cases involve complex issues such as mortgage fraud, intellectual property, trade secrets, defamation, campaign finance, mail and wire fraud, crypto currency, and civil rights.

He has represented First Amendment rights of various, candidates, committees, interest groups, and associations before courts and regulatory agencies, including the Federal Election Commission.  He has represented several presidential campaigns, including service as general counsel for the Ron Paul 2012 Presidential Campaign and as lead counsel for the 2016 Trump campaign’s Rules, Platform, and Credentials operation at the RNC Convention in Cleveland.  He has represented national and state political party committees, members of the United States Senate and House of Representatives as well as other elected officials at the state and local levels.  In 2016, he successfully defended the Republican Party of Virginia’s right to set its own rules for selecting delegates to the National Convention in federal court.  He also has extensive experience representing individuals in responding to government and congressional subpoenas including several individuals targeted by the House January 6th Committee and Department of Justice.  He is a magna cum laude graduate of Georgetown University and the George Mason University School of Law and a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
