Steve Fugelsang is a national security practitioner at the U.S. Department of Justice (National Security Division – Office of Intelligence). Prior to completing a legislative fellowship in the office of U.S. Senator Joni Ernst and working as an assistant general counsel on Governor Scott Walker's 2016 presidential campaign, he served 4.5 years on active duty in the U.S. Army. His service in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAG Corps) included a deployment to eastern Afghanistan as a rule of law advisor to senior Afghan government officials.

Steve graduated from The Antonin Scalia Law School at George Mason University (concentration in National Security Law and Policy) and received his B.A. magna cum laude from the University of Notre Dame. Between college and law school he interned in the Center for Legal and Judicial Studies at The Heritage Foundation.
