Cris Cicala is a corporate, commercial, banking, financial services, and real estate attorney representing corporations, financial institutions, investment funds, real estate developers, media companies, and entrepreneurs in transactional matters. Mr. Cicala brings a unique perspective to matters by providing practical and strategic legal and commercial advice to clients based upon his experience as an attorney, principal investor and real estate and business operator.
Mr. Cicala began his legal career in the corporate group of Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP. During his tenure at Hughes Hubbard, Mr. Cicala focused on matters involving the capital markets, finance, private equity, banking, mergers and acquisitions, securities issuance and regulation, and real estate development and finance. Mr. Cicala worked out of both the New York and Miami offices of Hughes Hubbard and has significant experience in both domestic and cross-border matters focusing on Latin America and Europe.
In 2005, Mr. Cicala co-founded Arx Holdings LLC a real estate and private equity investment firm. As Managing Director and CEO of Arx Holdings LLC, Mr. Cicala was involved in and led many real estate deals including the acquisitions, rehabilitations, and management of numerous multi-family properties, as well as the development and conversion of several condominium properties. Additionally, Mr. Cicala led a group of investors in the acquisition and turnaround of a privately held European luxury textile company, serving as interim CEO & Chairman. Mr. Cicala remains active as a principal investor and advisor in both private equity and real estate matters.
Mr. Cicala received his B.A. from Vanderbilt University and his J.D. with honors from the Tulane University School of Law, where he served as notes and comments editor for the Tulane Maritime Law Journal and received the Louisiana State Bar Association award for highest GPA in corporate and business law classes. Mr. Cicala has been cited numerous times in Latin Lawyer and Latin Finance Magazines for his role in significant Latin American transactions.
Mr. Cicala has previously served as a member of the Board of Directors of The Master Chorale of South Florida. Mr. Cicala has provided pro-bono legal services on behalf of Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, the Legal Aid Society of New York City and the Legal Aid Society of Miami-Dade County.
