Ellis M. Oster is the Senior Associate and Director of Litigation at Shapiro, DiCaro & Barak, LLC in Rochester, NY. Prior to this, he was lead attorney at RJS Abstract Corporation in Fairport, NY, and a summer law clerk at the Republican Governors Association and the Center for Individual Rights, both in Washington, DC.
In May 2006, Ellis received his J.D. from Cornell Law School, where he founded the Cornell Law Republicans, a student chapter of the Republican National Lawyers Association. He was also president of Cornell's Federalist Society chapter and Events Editor of the Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy, for which he organized the journal's annual symposium.
In May 2003, Ellis received both his B.A. (magna cum laude) and M.A. from The Catholic University of America. During college, Ellis was a research assistant in the Political Analysis Department at the Republican National Committee. He also served as chairman of the Catholic University College Republicans and the Washington, DC Federation of College Republicans.
Ellis is currently the legal counsel of the Ontario County Republican Committee, and previously served as the committee's treasurer. He is also a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Monroe County Bar Association, the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies, the Republican National Lawyers Association, and American MENSA. He lives with his wife and children in Canandaigua, NY.
