Mr. Joseph Gutheinz is an attorney licensed to practice law by 10 courts, to include the United States Supreme Court, United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, 5th, Circuit 8th Circuit, 10th Circuit, 11th Circuit, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, United States Court of Veterans Appeals, United States Tax Court, and the Supreme Court of Texas. He is presently listed as a Top 100 Lawyer by the National Trial Lawyers Association; has a Superb rating by AVVO (10 of 10) and is listed as a Top Lawyer by Houstonia Magazine. Mr. Gutheinz is the General Partner of the Gutheinz Law Firm, LLP.
Mr. Gutheinz was appointed by Texas Governor Rick Perry to previously serve on the following committee, board and commission: The Texas Department of Criminal Justice Advisory Committee on Medical and Mental Impairment; the Texas State Council on Sex Offender Treatment and the Texas Commission on Fire Protection.
Mr. Gutheinz is a Criminal Justice and Risk Management College Instructor for the University of Phoenix. He was also an Adjunct Professor for Thurgood Marshall School of Law; for Alvin Community College, and for Central Texas College.
Mr. Gutheinz is a retired senior special agent with NASA's Office of Inspector General, Criminal Investigations Division, and was also a special agent with two other federal agencies, FAA Civil Aviation Security and the U.S. Department Transportation, Office of Inspector General.
Mr. Gutheinz is a former Army officer, branched Military Intelligence and Aviation.
Mr. Gutheinz has six college degrees and eight current teaching credentials, including: a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from South Texas College of Law; a Master of Science degree from the University of Southern California; a Master of Arts degree from California State University, Sacramento; and California teaching credentials in police science, business and industrial management, sociology, public service and administration, and aeronautics.

Mr. Gutheinz lives and works in Houston, Texas with his wife and near his six sons. He also has 11 grandchildren.
