Kirkwood Palmer is student at the University of Mississippi School of Law. There, he serves as a Staff Editor for Volume 87 of the Mississippi Law Journal, Chief Technology Officer for the Mississippi School of Law Business Law Network, and sits on the Deanís Leadership Council.
Before law school, Kirkwood worked as a policy staffer for Congressman Gary Palmer (AL-06) and as a campaign person for Senate and Congressional races during the 2016 election cycle. Kirkwood worked on federal higher education policy at the American Council of Trustees and Alumni as an associate and with the Heritage Foundation as a legal intern in the Edwin Meese III Center for Legal and Judicial Studies. At the Heritage Foundation, Kirkwood worked on a range of issues including Voter ID, voterís rights, workerís rights, immigration, Medicaid reform, and referendum ballots.
Kirkwood attended the University of Alabama and the University of South Alabama and holds a B.A. in English and Philosophy. He hails from Mobile, Alabama and has worked there as a Summer Associate at a Civil Defense and Transactional law firm, as a political consultant and operative for Republican candidates, and as an employee for a Healthcare Information Technology corporation on issues arising from HIPAA compliance, Veteranís Affairs, and third-party insurance providers.
