Mr. Cardwell is currently Managing Director of the Consumer Finance & Fair Banking practice group of FIS Risk, Information Security & Compliance (RISC) Solutions at FIS. He advises financial institutions on a wide variety of consumer compliance issues and best practices for risk management. As a former chief compliance officer and BSA officer for a large credit card bank, Mr. Cardwell is a seasoned professional when it comes to the design, implementation and monitoring of comprehensive compliance management systems including anti-money laundering and fraud detection solutions for banks and non-banks of all sizes and complexities. During the savings and loan crisis he served as a senior attorney for the Resolution Trust Corporation. His career has also included the roles of counsel for a major California thrift, a licensed mortgage banker in New Jersey and an attorney in private practice in Pennsylvania. He is licensed to pratice in California and Pennsylvania, and is a member of the Montgomery and Philadelphia Bar Associations, and the Federalist Society. Mr. Cardwell is a frequent speaker on current issues impacting consumer financial services and residential mortgage lending and servicing. He also serves an approved trainer for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. He holds a J.D. degree from Pepperdine University School of Law and a B.S. degree in accounting with honors from Lehigh University.

Married with two daughters, Mr. Cardwell is an avid runner, rows out of Bachelors Barge Club in Philadelphia, loves American history and politics, volunteers for the Cheltenman Township Republican Organization and is a charter member of the National Consitution Center. He also teaches for the Montgomery Bar Association's Liberty & Law program for public schools and has served thirteen years on the Board of Directors of the YMCA of Philadelphia & Vicinity.
