J. Keith Gates is an attorney in Winnfield, Louisiana where he maintains a general civil litigation practice and serves as the City Prosecutor.
Keith hails from the metropolitan Goldonna, Louisiana area, was a 2000 graduate of Lakeview High School, and in 2004 graduated magna cum laude from Northwestern State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and a minor in political science. Keith earned both a Bachelor of Civil Law degree and a Juris Doctor degree in 2007 from the Louisiana State University Law Center.
After graduating from law school, Keith served as a law clerk for the Honorable Justice Jeffrey P. Victory of the Louisiana Supreme Court.
After his clerkship ended, Keith practiced personal injury law, including all aspects of marine, energy, insurance, and workers’ compensation law.
In the summer of 2011, Keith left for Washington, D.C., where he fought big government and government corruption.
Thereafter, Keith returned home to realize his dream of opening his own law firm.
Outside of the law, Keith is an avid camper who believes he should have his own Discovery Channel show, “Lawyer versus Wild.” Keith plays in a band, teaches Royal Ambassadors at the Goldonna Baptist Church, and is an active member of the Masonic Fraternity, holding membership in three Louisiana Lodges as well as serving the Grand Lodge of Louisiana as Grand Organist.
