Jennifer McNeely joined the firm in 2014 and focuses her practice in the areas of insurance defense, insurance coverage, general civil business litigation, as well as state and federal campaign finance and election law compliance. Prior to joining WACHP, Ms. McNeely specialized in campaign finance compliance, election law, legislative consultation, statutory interpretation, administrative law, and government affairs on the federal and state levels. She has extensive state executive and legislative branch work experience, having served in various roles in the offices of Governor Sonny Perdue, Lt. Governor Casey Cagle, and Senate Majority Whip Cecil Staton. Ms. McNeely has represented individuals, small businesses, elected officials, political action committees, and campaign committees before regulatory and administrative boards. She Jennifer advised state officials on a wide range of legal matters related to Georgia's prescription drug monitoring program, campus carry, immigration reform, Georgia's title ad valorem tax, and criminal justice reform. Ms. McNeely has championed the passage of legislation and advocated on behalf of various citizenry groups before state and federal regulators. In her spare time, Ms. McNeely volunteers with non-partisan advocacy groups focused on educating women on how to become civically involved on the state and local levels.
Ms. McNeely also served as a law clerk in the legal counsel's office of the Republican National Committee. During her service at the RNC, Jennifer prepared memos detailing requirements for compliance with federal campaign finance regulations for national and state political parties and PACs, developed and implemented protocols for evaluating copyright and trademark licensing requests made to the RNC, drafted and reviewed vendor contracts to ensure liability protection for the Committee, attended administrative hearings and drafted advisory opinion requests to the Federal Election Commission, created a 50-State campaign finance law and regulations reference catalog, and conducted extensive research on federal campaign finance law post-Citizens United. Jennifer was a member of the legal professional resource team for the 2013 Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida.
Ms. McNeely received her Bachelors of Arts degree in Business Administration and Management from Georgia State University. She later went on to acquire her law degree from the University of Georgia School of Law. Ms. McNeely was active in UGA Law’s advocacy programs, competing as member of the moot court, mock trial and negotiation teams. Ms. McNeely served as president of UGA Law’s Federalist Society and secretary of the Black Law Student Association. Jennifer and her husband Michael live in the suburbs of Atlanta.
