Christian Ortego is currently a Litigation Associate at Steptoe & Johnson, LLP. He has experience in white collar and regulatory investigations, and toxic tort and commercial litigation. Prior to joining Steptoe, Mr. Ortego was an attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division, Voting Section where he was responsible for leading election monitoring teams and investigating and prosecuting potential violations of the Voting Rights Act and other statutes enforced by the section.
Mr. Ortego received his law degree (cum laude) from American University's Washington College of Law in 2005 where he was an editor on the American University Law Review.
Mr. Ortego is currently an active drilling reservist in the United States Naval Reserve. He hold a Masters Degree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College and a Bachelor of Arts from Louisiana State University.
