Ryan earned his Juris Doctor from Chapman University School of Law in 2008, where he focused his studies on constitutional law under the mentorship of Profs. John Eastman, Karen Lugo, and David Llewellyn. He has subsequently served as a staff attorney for the Center for Constitutional Jurisprudence, focusing on a variety of constitutional issues. Other activities include serving as vice president of the San Diego Federalist Society and the San Diego Lawyer Chair of the 2010 Ballot Integrity Program.

Ryan recently opened The Law Office of Ryan T. Darby in San Diego, where he practices landlord rights, constitutional, and election law.
