A native East Texan, J. Keith Stanley is an accomplished Attorney with over 20 years of experience in the legal field, as both a paralegal and attorney. His practice currently focuses on civil, commercial, insurance, and corporate/business areas and covers a geographic area ranging from North Texas to the Corpus Christi area, from the Hill Country to the Texas-Louisiana state line. During his career, he has participated in litigation in every major metropolitan area of Texas in addition to participation in litigation and transactions on a national and international scale. Keith maintains a diverse general litigation and transactional docket and serves as outside general counsel for several Texas-based entities, including the 2007 NASA Inventor of the Year.
Keith holds an AV Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating, the highest possible rating for attorneys, and has had numerous jury and bench trials in which he has successfully achieved positive results for both companies and individuals. Of note, he successfully defended at the trial and appellate levels a media client sued for defamation by a governmental entity, a case of first impression in Texas appellate practice, PAISD v. Klein, 349 S.W.3d 70 (Tex. App. Beaumont 2002).
In addition to his legal practice, Keith served as an adjunct professor of law for the University of Houston Bates School of Law. Additionally, he has served as an adjunct professor of business law for Stephen F. Austin State University for the past four years.
In addition to Texas courts, Keith is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for Fifth Circuit, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas. He also holds an ad litem certification from the State Bar of Texas.
