Stephen J. Obermeier is an associate at Wiley Rein LLP, a Washington, D.C. law firm. Mr. Obermeier assists clients with a variety of trial and appellate matters before federal and state courts and administrative agencies. He has represented firm clients in various matters involving the Administrative Procedure Act (APA), the False Claims Act (FCA), procurement law, telecommunications law, federal preemption issues and the Federal Arbitration Act. He also served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia, where he represented the United States and federal agencies in a variety of civil matters, including APA, Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA), Title VII, Bivens and FCA matters. He graduated Order of the Coif from Vanderbilt University Law School in 2006, where he was a Managing Editor on the Vanderbilt Law Review. Following law school, Mr. Obermeier served as a law clerk to Judge Karen LeCraft Henderson of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. He graduated cum laude from Princeton University in 2003 with an A.B. in Economics.
