Stephen Simcox is an associate in Barnes & Thornburg LLPís Dallas office and a member of the firmís Government Services and Finance Department.
Mr. Simcox maintains a political law practice where he counsels candidates, political action committees and political party organizations on federal and state campaign and election laws. He advises clients in the areas of ballot access, campaign finance, lobbying, gifts, and conflicts-of-interest.
Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg LLP, Mr. Simcox served as the Deputy General Counsel to Indiana Governor Mike Pence where he was responsible for legislative, agency rulemaking, personnel, and civil litigation matters. Mr. Simcox previously served as a Deputy Attorney General in the Civil Litigation Section of the Office of the Indiana Attorney General, where he advised and represented state officers and agencies in civil rights lawsuits and constitutional challenges to state statutes, regulations, and programs.
Mr. Simcox earned his J.D. from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law. his B.A. from Wheaton College (Illinois). He is admitted to practice in the states of Indiana and Texas.
