I am a lifelong Republican. Originally from Michigan, I ran for Congress from Michigan's 16th Congressional District in 1980 against John Dingell. Shortly thereafter, I decided to go to law school and graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law where I was a member of Law Review. I practiced international law in Columbia, SC with Berry, Dunbar, Daniel, then later moved to Florida where I became a professor, teaching law at the undergraduate and graduate level at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, FL. I am a commissioner on the Charlotte County Airport Authority, now on my 5th term and preparing to seek a 6th.
