Mr. Schmidt is co-team leader of the Firm's Business Ligation Practice Team. He concentrates his practice in the areas of business litigation, employee disloyalty, federal practice, and computer forensics.

He is a 1993 graduate of Rutgers Law School (J.D.), and a 1985 graduate of New York University (B.F.A.). Following law school, Mr. Schmidt held a fellowship with the Pacific Legal Foundation (1993-94). Thereafter, he served as Law Clerk to Hon. John T. Elfvin, U.S. District Court (W.D.N.Y.)(1994-96).

Mr. Schmidt is a member of the N.Y.S and Erie County Bar Associations, and the Federalist Society.

He serves as Second Vice-Chair of the Erie County Republican Committee, Chair of the ECRC Republican Leadership Council, and President of the Greater Niagara Frontier Council of the Boys Scouts of America.
