Mr. Paugh serves as an Assistant Chief Counsel with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and is currently located in the Denver, Colorado region.
From 2006-2009, Mr. Paugh served as Senior Advisor and U.S. Coordinator for International Intellectual Property Enforcement in the immediate office of Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez. Previously, Mr. Paugh was a Senior Legislative Counsel to the law firm Venable LLP.
In 2002-2004, Mr. Paugh served as Chief of Staff to former Congressman and Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property Jim Rogan at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Additionally, from 1998-2001, Mr. Paugh served as Legislative Counsel for U.S. Congressman Dana Rohrabacher (CA-46th).
Mr. Paugh's educational background includes a LL.M. from the George Washington University School of Law and a J.D. with an emphasis in intellectual property law from the George Mason University School of Law in Arlington, VA.
Additionally, Mr. Paugh received an M.S. in the Management of Technology / Industrial Engineering from the Univ. of Miami (FL). He received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a B.A. in Communications from the Univ. of South Florida.
Mr. Paugh is an member of the bars of Colorado, Florida and the District of Columbia.
