BIO

Heather S. Heidelbaugh is an Equity Partner with Leech Tishman and a member of the Litigation and Government Relations Practice Groups. An experienced trial lawyer, Heather is based in Leech Tishman’s Pittsburgh office and focuses her practice primarily on litigation of all types, including election law matters.

Heather is a well-known public commentator on issues related to politics, law and elections. She has appeared for two decades on local television and radio regarding public affairs in Pittsburgh, and has also appeared on a number of national television shows and has been quoted in national publications.

During the course of her career, Heather has been a steadfast advocate for fair elections. She was a leader in the fight against the corrupt election practices of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (better known as ACORN). Heather served as lead counsel in the 2008 lawsuit uncovering ACORN’s corrupt practices and testified about ACORN before the Judiciary Committee.

Heather has been a member of the Republican National Lawyers Association (RNLA) since 2000. She founded the RNLA’s Pittsburgh Chapter and has previously served as RNLA Membership, Professional Services, and Election Education Vice Presidents. She was also the RNLA’s national Co-Chair.

Heather was the recipient of the RNLA’s 2015 Betty Murphy Award. She was selected for the Betty Murphy Award for being “an unsung hero, member, trailblazer, with entrepreneurial spirit, a community service leader, and an organization builder who inspires others’ efforts.”

Heather was also the recipient of an Allegheny County District Attorney’s Office 2015 Woman of Achievement Award, honoring 20 prominent women from the Greater Pittsburgh region. She was selected for the award based on excellence in her field, significant contributions to the betterment of the community, and outstanding accomplishments for the advancement of women. Heather was also honored with an Allegheny County Bar Association’s first Pro Bono Award for her work in forming a legal clinic for the homeless in Allegheny County.

Heather is a member of the Academy of Trial Lawyers and the Litigation Counsel of America, a national legal honorary society. She has also served on the Allegheny County Council as an At-Large Member.

Heather was named one of the Top 50 Lawyers in Pittsburgh and the Top 50 Women Lawyers in Pennsylvania in 2016.
