UPDATE: Pro-Lifer Acquitted After FBI Raid Last Year
Last year, we reported on the FBI raid of Pennsylvania pro-life advocate Mark Houck's house in an apparent political move. Now, Houck has been acquitted of the federal charges brought against him relating to the incident:
A federal jury on Monday acquitted Catholic pro-life activist Mark Houck, who was charged with violating the FACE Act over a 2021 skirmish with a Planned Parenthood volunteer outside a Pennsylvania clinic.

House GOP Investigates PayPal and Schedules Interview with Former FBI Official
On Tuesday, Republican House members sent a letter to PayPal asking for information about a controversial policy the company considered enacting that would essentially punish users for engaging in speech the company disagrees with:
The letter demanded that PayPal send House Republicans on the Energy and Commerce Committee and Financial Services Committee written answers to 15 questions about the circumstances surrounding the “Acceptable Use Policy,” which was published by PayPal on Oct. 8. The questions demand PayPal to name those who drafted the policy, who had the authority to approve it, and whether PayPal had coordinated with the Biden administration regarding it. . .

A Pennsylvania pro-life advocate is scheduled to be arraigned on charges of violating FACE (Freedom of Access to Clinics Entrances Act) on Tuesday after the FBI stormed his house last week. Unfortunately, this appears to be another instance of Biden's DOJ targeting someone with opposing beliefs. The Federalist reported:
The arrest warrant shows Houck accused of “attacking a patient escort” at a Planned Parenthood facility in violation of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act, a federal law used to restrict the actions of pro-life protesters and counselors in front of abortion facilities. Mark, who also runs a men’s ministry devoted in part to rescuing men from pornography addictions, made a habit of driving two hours to Philadelphia every week to spend his Wednesdays speaking and counseling in front of the Planned Parenthood – Elizabeth Blackwell Health Center.

Ahead of the 2022-2023 Supreme Court term, Chief Justice John Roberts, Justice Elena Kagan, and Justice Neil Gorsuch are speaking up about the legitimacy of the Supreme Court after the Court's decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, which overturned Roe v. Wade, was leaked earlier this year. Chief Justice Roberts spoke to a group of lawyers and judges last week where he specifically addressed those who seek to cast doubt on the legitimacy of the Supreme Court simply because they disagree with its decisions:
Chief Justice John Roberts said disagreement with the Supreme Court’s decisions is “not a basis for criticizing the legitimacy of the court,” on Friday in his first public remarks since the Court overturned Roe v. Wade.

On Tuesday, a U.S. District Court judge blocked guidance that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released in response to the overturning of Roe v. Wade. This guidance would have required all hospitals to perform abortions in circumstances that violate state laws. Fox News explained:
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton on Wednesday hailed a federal judge’s decision to temporarily block the Biden administration from forcing hospitals to provide abortions services if the mother’s health or life was at risk.

Polling recently commissioned by the Judicial Crisis Network shows that Americans wholeheartedly reject the intimidation and violence that pro-abortion activists have promoted in the wake of Roe v. Wade being overturned last month. Over half of the respondents believed that the law against protesting at Supreme Court Justices houses should be enforced by Attorney General Merrick Garland and believed that such protests undermine democracy. The Federalist reported:
Americans do not believe it is right to protest outside the home of Supreme Court justices or conduct protests that interfere with the justices’ personal lives, a new poll found.

On Friday, the Biden Administration announced its 24th round of judicial nominees, bringing President Biden's total number of judicial nominees to 132. Each new slate of nominees illustrates the Administration's goal of placing radicals in the judiciary. This time, it's abortion activist Julie Rikelman, nominated to the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit:
Conservative opposition is expected in the U.S. Senate, where Democrats are facing pressure from progressive activists to speed up judicial confirmations before the Nov. 8 midterm elections, when they risk losing control of the chamber to Republicans.

Last week, Congressman and New York gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin was attacked while giving a campaign speech. Zeldin, who was ironically giving a speech about bail reform during the attack, predicted that the assailant would be released. Unfortunately, this prediction came true. (The attacker was subsequently arrested again after federal charges were filed.)

Democrats’ soft-on-crime policies are outrageous, but since Lee is a Republican, the media will largely ignore the attack.
A Post-Roe America Is A Better America
While Democrats wanted to fight over whether men can get pregnant in today’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, “A Post-Roe America: The Legal Consequences of the Dobbs Decision,” Republicans focused on the importance of the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization and how it restores the democratic process.
