With less than two weeks until Election Day, candidates are taking to the debate stage to face off on the issues. Last night, it did not go well for them. Blatant lies, misrepresentations, and even casual dismissals of the voters concerns were part of three Democrat candidates' playbook.
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer was the classic example of this. While debating Republican candidate Tudor Dixon on Tuesday night, Whitmer claimed that schools were only closed for 3 months as a result of the COVID pandemic.Read more
While national attention has been focused on the upcoming midterm elections for U.S. House and Senate, many have overlooked state races like the Wisconsin gubernatorial election, which has been described as the most important in the nation. Republican candidate Tim Michels is surging in the polls against current Governor Tony Evers and has recently drawn level with Governor Evers in the RealClearPolitics average after trailing in recent months.

A new FBI report indicates that murder rates increased during 2021, while violent crime decreased overall. However, the agency is facing criticism over the credibility of its data, which relies heavily on estimation due to a lack of participation by law enforcement agencies—including those in crime hubs like Los Angeles and New York City:
“The overwhelming lack of law enforcement participation presents a challenge when assessing the true state of nationwide crime in America,” said Jillian Snider, the policy director for the R Street Institute’s criminal justice and civil liberties team.
Snider, a retired NYPD cop, said everyone should “proceed with caution” in using this data for new criminal justice policy.
The FBI’s latest statistics show violent crime dropped last year — but the data fails to account for thousands of places, including big cities like NYC and LA.— Craig McCarthy (@createcraig) October 5, 2022
Experts say the data has glaring holes due to an “overwhelming” lack of participation by police.https://t.co/zfd9BfjHNq
There is no greater example of the breakdown of law and order under the Biden administration than the crisis on our southern border. According to a report by CNN, the crisis is the deadliest it's ever been, with a record number of migrants who've died crossing the border during the last fiscal year:
Nearly 750 migrants have died at the southern border this fiscal year, a record that surpasses last year's total by more than 200 people, according to Department of Homeland Security figures shared with CNN. . .Read more
The Biden Crime Crisis is exploding in Democrat strongholds across the country, illustrating the jarring reality of Leftist, soft-on-crime policies. In New York City, five people were murdered in shootings this past weekend alone.

Last week, Congressman and New York gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin was attacked while giving a campaign speech. Zeldin, who was ironically giving a speech about bail reform during the attack, predicted that the assailant would be released. Unfortunately, this prediction came true. (The attacker was subsequently arrested again after federal charges were filed.)
A man tried to assassinate @RepLeeZeldin with a knife. Thankfully, Lee is safe, but his attacker is already released back on the streets.— Kevin McCarthy (@GOPLeader) July 22, 2022
Democrats’ soft-on-crime policies are outrageous, but since Lee is a Republican, the media will largely ignore the attack.
On Monday, the Biden Administration announced its latest gun grab. The National Review's David Harsanyi writes:
Crime is rising, so it’s time for Democrats to take aim at law-abiding gun owners. In a press conference today, President Joe Biden promised swift action, announcing a series of unilateral moves that will have virtually no effect on rising criminality. Among them is regulating so-called “ghost guns,” which Biden claims “are the weapons of choice for many criminals.” And by “many,” he means “incredibly few.” Biden also promised to fight for “universal” background checks and “assault-weapons” bans, two other policies that would do almost nothing to lower the crime rate and everything to do with making life more difficult for peaceful gun owners.Read more
Biden's crime crisis has reached Washington Democrats' backyard. It's always been there, but now the violence is overflowing into areas where D.C.'s political class spend their time. On Thursday night, 2 were wounded in a shooting that erupted on a busy street in Washington D.C. during dinner time. Last Saturday, 3 more were injured in a shooting that took place outside of Nationals Park. The sad reality is that there have been more than 100 homicides in our nation's capital this year including a 6 year-old girl killed this past weekend.Read more
