Democrats Reap the Consequences of Their Radical Policies in D.C. and Massachusetts

Posted on Blog by Republican National Lawyers Association (RNLA) · August 08, 2023 6:30 PM

Last week, the Oakland NAACP shocked many for speaking out against the dangerous soft-on-crime policies of Leftist city leaders and demanding that a "state of emergency" be declared in response to the city's ongoing crime crisis. Now, a Democrat member of the D.C. City Council is calling for the National Guard to be called in in response to a recent onslaught of violent crime in our nation's capital.

With three dead in mass shooting last night, August in Washington DC is off to a murderous start. These are MPD year-to-date stats. Murder, robbery, car theft rising fast. https://t.co/IJY1Mcx5mc https://t.co/d8ZKmQXHnW pic.twitter.com/uLbdYD1LtQ

Oakland NAACP Blames Rogue Prosecutor for Public Safety Crisis

Posted on Blog by Republican National Lawyers Association (RNLA) · July 31, 2023 10:16 PM

The Oakland, California chapter of the NAACP has broken with its typical support for leftist policies and released a letter condemning the city's rogue prosecutor and the "defund the police" movement for the city's ongoing crime crisis. The Washington Free Beacon reported:

The Oakland NAACP released a statement Thursday calling for state and local elected leaders to declare a "state of emergency" as a result of increasing violent crime in the California city.

Dems in Disarray: Biden Sides with Republicans on D.C. Crime Bill

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth El-Rassy · March 03, 2023 6:38 PM

In a rare move, President Joe Biden has indicated that he will sign into law a Republican effort to block a radical D.C. law that would have dramatically weakened penalties for serious crimes in the nation's capital.

🚨 BREAKING: Even Biden admits crime is out of control in Democrat-run cities thanks to the Left's soft-on-crime agenda.

House Republicans are forcing a bill to his desk to overturn DC's weak new criminal code eliminating mandatory minimums on violent crime—and he won't veto it. https://t.co/sd6b7sh7H5

But Biden shouldn't be given any credit for ultimately stopping the radical legislation. This was clearly a move to save face for Democrats who have largely been responsible for a crime crisis sweeping the country:

Garland Faces New Congress for First Time

Posted on Blog by Republican National Lawyers Association (RNLA) · March 01, 2023 6:05 PM

On Wednesday, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee for the first time this Congress. Like in past hearings, Attorney General Garland failed to own up to the obvious problems with the Department of Justice (DOJ) under his leadership. However, a major admission he made alluded to an undeniable failure of the Biden Administration as a whole—Biden's Border Crisis:

Attorney General Merrick Garland says Mexican drug cartels unleashed the fentanyl crisis on the U.S. "on purpose," and urged the Mexican government to "do more" to combat drug trafficking.

Fox News meteorologist Adam Klotz was violently attacked this past weekend after intervening when he encountered a man being harassed by a group of teens:

Klotz was on his way home after watching the Giants-Eagles NFL playoff game at a Manhattan bar shortly before he noticed a group of teens harassing an "older gentleman," and had set his hair on fire with a joint.

D.C. Council Puts Nation's Capital in Danger with New Crime Bill

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth El-Rassy · January 18, 2023 7:47 PM

On Tuesday, the D.C. City Council approved a dangerous crime bill that will radically weaken criminal penalties in the nation's capital. The bill is so bad that even leftist Mayor Muriel Bowser opposes the bill:

The District of Columbia City Council voted to force through revisions of the district's criminal code that will soften penalties on violent crimes, overriding a previous veto from the mayor's office.

Democrats' Disastrous Debate Night

Posted on Blog by Republican National Lawyers Association (RNLA) · October 26, 2022 9:20 PM

With less than two weeks until Election Day, candidates are taking to the debate stage to face off on the issues. Last night, it did not go well for them. Blatant lies, misrepresentations, and even casual dismissals of the voters concerns were part of three Democrat candidates' playbook.

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer was the classic example of this. While debating Republican candidate Tudor Dixon on Tuesday night, Whitmer claimed that schools were only closed for 3 months as a result of the COVID pandemic.

Crime Plays a Major Role in the Tightening Wisconsin Governor's Race

Posted on Blog by Ian Brenson · October 24, 2022 12:12 PM

While national attention has been focused on the upcoming midterm elections for U.S. House and Senate, many have overlooked state races like the Wisconsin gubernatorial election, which has been described as the most important in the nation. Republican candidate Tim Michels is surging in the polls against current Governor Tony Evers and has recently drawn level with Governor Evers in the RealClearPolitics average after trailing in recent months.

New FBI Crime Stats Leave Out Major Crime Hubs

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth El-Rassy · October 05, 2022 5:35 PM

A new FBI report indicates that murder rates increased during 2021, while violent crime decreased overall. However, the agency is facing criticism over the credibility of its data, which relies heavily on estimation due to a lack of participation by law enforcement agencies—including those in crime hubs like Los Angeles and New York City:

“The overwhelming lack of law enforcement participation presents a challenge when assessing the true state of nationwide crime in America,” said Jillian Snider, the policy director for the R Street Institute’s criminal justice and civil liberties team.

Snider, a retired NYPD cop, said everyone should “proceed with caution” in using this data for new criminal justice policy.

The FBI’s latest statistics show violent crime dropped last year — but the data fails to account for thousands of places, including big cities like NYC and LA.

Experts say the data has glaring holes due to an “overwhelming” lack of participation by police.https://t.co/zfd9BfjHNq

Biden Border Crisis is Deadlier Than Ever

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth El-Rassy · September 08, 2022 6:17 PM

There is no greater example of the breakdown of law and order under the Biden administration than the crisis on our southern border. According to a report by CNN, the crisis is the deadliest it's ever been, with a record number of migrants who've died crossing the border during the last fiscal year:

Nearly 750 migrants have died at the southern border this fiscal year, a record that surpasses last year's total by more than 200 people, according to Department of Homeland Security figures shared with CNN. . .
