RNC Chief Counsel Justin Riemer to Receive 2021 Chairman's Award at National Election Law Seminar
Today, the RNLA announced that it will give RNC Chief Counsel Justin Riemer the 2021 Robert J. Horn Chairman's Award during the National Election Law Seminar, which will be in Atlanta in August. Justin expertly led the RNC's legal department through the tumultuous 2020 election season - helping to protect the integrity of elections throughout the country, keep the RNC in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, and provide expertise on questions of campaign finance and election administration. Justin has extensive experience with all aspects of elections and serves as a great asset to the entire Republican Party.

It is particularly fitting that the leadership of RNLA in 2020 selected Harvey Tettlebaum to win the "Robert Horn Chairman's Award." Harvey and Bob were law partners. Although Harvey is a Missouri Republican party leader and lawyer who views Washington warily while Bob was a DC insider comfortable with lobbyists and insiders at cocktail parties, they were close friends. As Bob passed away this year, in a sense the role of "senior leader" has passed to Harvey. Below is the official press release.

President George H.W. Bush will be greatly missed, not only by his family and those who knew him best, but by the whole country and world. President Bush proudly and honorably served his country, beginning by his heroic service in the United State Navy following the attacks on Pearl Harbor and then eventually as the youngest aviator (at that time) in the United State Navy. President Bush became involved in politics by running for office and being appointed to several distinguishing positions throughout Republican committees and administrations. His last and most distinguishing political title came in 1988 when he was elected to serve as President of the United States, being the first incumbent vice president in 152 years to do so. Additionally, President Bush is part of only two father-son pairs in United States history to serve as Presidents.
