Democrats' Latest Effort at a Federal Takeover of Our Elections

Posted on Blog by Michael Thielen · March 29, 2022 9:35 PM

Led by House Administration Ranking Member Rodney Davis, nine members of Congress have written a letter to Domestic Policy Director Susan Rice and OMB Director Shalanda Young to inquire and express concerns about President Biden’s Executive Order 14019 on “Promoting Access to Voting.” The members of Congress are correct to do so for a multitude of reasons, but we will focus on three.

Why Manchin Has to Vote Against H.R. 4

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth El-Rassy · August 30, 2021 5:50 PM

After passing the House last week with no Republican support, H.R. 4's next stop is the U.S. Senate. Democrats in the Senate need all the support they can get to pass H.R. 4, and at the center of this effort is the vote of Democrat Senator Joe Manchin. And as it stands now, Joe Manchin has no choice but to vote "no" on H.R. 4 based on his prior statements.

Rep. Steil Calls Out VP for Thinking Rural Americans are Incapable of Photocopying their ID

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth El-Rassy · July 12, 2021 4:16 PM

During today's Committee on House Administration hearing discussing the Elections Clause, Rep. Brian Steil called out Vice President Kamala Harris for insinuating that rural Americans are incapable of complying with voter ID laws. In a recent interview for BET, Vice President Harris argued that rural Americans are unable to photocopy their ID. This is just another example of Democrats' ludicrous claims that voter ID laws amount to "voter suppression."

Dems are Building a Record to Ram Through Radical Election Legislation

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth El-Rassy · June 24, 2021 3:07 PM

The Democrats are building a record to ram through their next radical proposal for the U.S. electoral system, H.R.4. They admitted as much themselves today during a hearing titled, "Voting In America: A National Perspective On The Right To Vote, Methods Of Election, Jurisdictional Boundaries, And Redistricting." Today's meeting was the latest in what will be a long series of House hearings on elections; when all is said and done, there will be 15 hearings in total.

At Hearing, Dems Conveniently Ignore Chaos Caused by Dem Election Officials in 2020

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth El-Rassy · June 11, 2021 5:04 PM

On Friday, the Committee on House Administration's Elections Subcommittee held a hearing entitled, "Voting In America: The Potential For Polling Place Quality And Restrictions On Opportunities To Vote To Interfere With Free And Fair Access To The Ballot." Democrat hypocrisy was on full display as they conveniently ignored how many of the areas that experienced problems with voting in 2020 due to polling place closures were run by Democrat elections officials.

RNLA Co-Chair Harmeet Dhillon: Even Dems Know that Voter ID/List Maintenance Boost Confidence

Posted on Blog by Republican National Lawyers Association (RNLA) · May 24, 2021 4:37 PM

Speaking before the Committee on House Administration Subcommittee on Elections today, RNLA Co-Chair Harmeet Dhillon said it best:

"The unspoken truth is that all voters, including Democrats, know that Voter ID and voter list maintenance are important tools to maintain voter confidence in election administration and the results they produce. Democrat politicians and radical activists undermine that valuable confidence when they fail to support these commonsense and widely-supported tools."

Throughout the hearing, Democrat members of the Subcommittee and their witnesses attacked and undermined widely-supported election integrity laws like requiring voter ID and voter list maintenance—two procedures that dramatically increase voter confidence in elections.

McCarthy Calls Out Pelosi's Partisan Power Grab

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth El-Rassy · March 29, 2021 9:28 PM

Earlier today, House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy sent a letter to Speaker Nancy Pelosi calling her out for what the IA-2 election contest really is — yet another Pelosi power grab. The letter reads:

All votes have been counted, and Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks won her election. Not only did Dr. Miller-Meeks not trail in any officially reported count, but she also continued to lead following a recount conducted by bipartisan recount boards, which included a member from each campaign and an agreed upon third party. On November 30, 2020, the bipartisan State Canvassing Board voted unanimously to certify Congresswoman Miller-Meeks as the winner. Then, on January 3, 2021, you seated Congresswoman Miller-Meeks as a Member of Congress with support from every Democratic Member.

House Admin Republicans: H.R. 1 is a Partisan and Massive Congressional Overreach

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth El-Rassy · February 19, 2021 5:00 PM

With H.R. 1 scheduled to come to the House floor the first week of March, it is important to revisit just how destructive this legislation, first introduced during the 116th Congress, would be for the U.S. election system. The Committee on House Administration Republicans have exposed H.R. 1 for what it is — "a partisan and massive congressional overreach designed to keep their Democrat majority by nationalizing our elections."
