Weintraub Corrupts and Politicizes FEC, Undermines Elections

In her seventeenth year of a six-year term on the Federal Election Commission (FEC), Commissioner Ellen Weintraub is showing her true partisan colors.  She is fanning the flames of distrust in government by misusing her government position to question the legitimacy of the 2016 presidential election (and all presidential elections before it), to troll the President, and to call for policing speech on the internet.  
Appearing over the weekend on All In with Chris Hayes on the liberal MSNBC, Weintraub joined the chorus of Democrats attacking the Electoral College, oddly by relying on foreigners' confusion over it:

On Election Reforms, GOP Wants to Work, Democrats Want to Play Politics

After the hotly contested election in 2000, Republicans and Democrats came together to pass the bipartisan Help America Vote Act ("HAVA").  HAVA was a response to the chaos of the 2000 Florida recount.  HAVA was not perfect but it represented a good faith effort on all sides to come together and passed 357-48 in the House and 92-2 in the Senate.  This should be the way all election reform is done.  Unfortunately, it is not true anymore.

Democrats Continue Partisan Grandstanding with Election Security Legislation

On Friday, the House Administration Committee held a markup hearing to consider H.R. 2722, also known as the SAFE Act, “a bill to protect elections for public office by providing financial support and enhanced security for the infrastructure used to carry out such elections, and for other purposes, or a related measure, and for other purposes.”

Congress Focuses on Election Cybersecurity and Election Assistance Commission

House Admin Committee Defeats All GOP Amendments to Try to Fix HR 1
