Record Turnout Destroys Voter Suppression Claims

Posted on Blog by Republican National Lawyers Association (RNLA) · June 16, 2022 8:23 PM

Contrary to allegations from the Left that states like Iowa and Georgia engaged in voter suppression by passing stronger election laws after the 2020 election, these states are experiencing record-breaking voter turnout.

Republican States are Leading the Way with Election Reforms

Posted on Blog by Republican National Lawyers Association (RNLA) · May 26, 2022 5:37 PM

Polling done by the Honest Elections Project shows that Americans overwhelmingly support commonsense election integrity reforms. As research done by the Lawyers Democracy Fund shows, Republican states are leading the way in enacting these important reforms.

Elections "Make or Break" at the Local Level

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth Bradford El-Rassy · April 26, 2021 8:10 PM

The Left continues to incessantly attack newly-signed election laws in Georgia and Iowa which fall well within the mainstream. Despite this seeming obsession with state election reforms, they routinely ignore one the most important components of the new laws—they hold local election officials accountable for their election administration failures. As the RNC's Chief Counsel, Justin Riemer, explained in a recent op-ed, how elections are managed at the local level "make or break" them:

[L]ess discussed are parts of the laws that hold to account and punish poor local election management practices.

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth Bradford El-Rassy · April 01, 2021 7:26 PM

Pelosi's partisan power grab in Iowa's Second Congressional District is officially over. After months of controversy, Democrat Rita Hart has dropped her federal election challenge to the outcome of November's race for the congressional seat that rightfully went to Dr. Mariannette Miller-Meeks.

McCarthy Calls Out Pelosi's Partisan Power Grab

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth Bradford El-Rassy · March 29, 2021 9:28 PM

Earlier today, House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy sent a letter to Speaker Nancy Pelosi calling her out for what the IA-2 election contest really is — yet another Pelosi power grab. The letter reads:

All votes have been counted, and Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks won her election. Not only did Dr. Miller-Meeks not trail in any officially reported count, but she also continued to lead following a recount conducted by bipartisan recount boards, which included a member from each campaign and an agreed upon third party. On November 30, 2020, the bipartisan State Canvassing Board voted unanimously to certify Congresswoman Miller-Meeks as the winner. Then, on January 3, 2021, you seated Congresswoman Miller-Meeks as a Member of Congress with support from every Democratic Member.

Democrats Trying to Steal Two US House Seats by Cherry-picking Laws and Votes

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth Bradford El-Rassy · January 26, 2021 6:50 PM

It's been nearly 3 months since Election Day, but the results of the race for New York's 22nd Congressional District are still hanging in the balance. Yesterday, appellate division Justice Patrick NeMoyer rejected Democrat Anthony Brindisi's request to halt a review of over 1,000 ballots ordered by state Supreme Court Justice Scott DelConte:

The review aims to determine if any of those ballots belong to voters who applied to vote on time via the state Department of Motor Vehicles. Those voters’ applications were never processed, rendering those people unable to vote on Election Day.

State Supreme Court Justice Scott DelConte last week ordered Oneida County officials to dig into the batch of ballots to see how many voters were disenfranchised through no fault of their own and to count the votes of people in that situation.

Rep. Miller-Meeks Officially Seated for IA CD-2; Dems Should Give Up

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth Bradford El-Rassy · January 04, 2021 8:36 PM

Representative Miller-Meeks was officially sworn into the 117th Congress on Sunday to represent Iowa's 2nd Congressional District. Still, Democrats refuse to concede an election that Rep. Miller-Meeks rightfully won.

Rep. Miller-Meeks' losing opponent, Democrat Rita Hart, filed a federal election contest in the U.S. House of Representatives calling on the Democratic majority to overturn Rep. Miller-Meeks' victory. Unsurprisingly, liberal attorney Marc Elias is representing Hart in her effort to overturn the will of Iowa's voters. Elias spent much of 2020 using the legal system to wreak havoc on elections on behalf of his clients. He is also currently involved in ongoing litigation regarding the Georgia Senate runoffs.

Iowa Republicans Urge the U.S. House to Not Take Up the IA-2 Election Contest

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth Bradford El-Rassy · December 17, 2020 11:39 PM

Iowa's congressional delegation has written a letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, and leadership from the House Committee on Administration urging them not to take up Democrat Rita Hart's election contest in Iowa's 2nd Congressional District. As RNLA previously reported, Republican Mariannette Miller-Meeks is the rightful winner of the race, and Hart is looking to take advantage of the Democrat's House majority to circumvent Iowa's procedures and steal the seat.

Dr. Miller-Meeks is the Rightful Winner of IA-2 and Should be Seated by Speaker Pelosi on January 3rd

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth Bradford El-Rassy · December 11, 2020 4:49 PM

Democrat Rita Hart has announced that she will be filing a petition with the House Administration Committee to challenge the results of Iowa's 2nd congressional district race. Why should this alarm Republicans? Republican Mariannette Miller-Meeks clearly won the race, not Rita Hart. You read that right... House Democrats are trying to take advantage of their majority to seat the loser of the Iowa-2 congressional race over the rightful winner.
