Is Biden Hoping to Turn the Supreme Court into a Liberal Mini-Legislature?
The Democrat Party is as radical as it has ever been and last night at the Presidential debate Joe Biden declared “I am the Democratic Party.” While President Trump and to a lesser extent Chris Wallace tried to pin down the former Vice President, he refused on such issues as court packing, or the issue of increasing the Supreme Court beyond nine members. How extreme an issue is this? Socialist Senator Bernie Sanders does not back it.
That was Joe Biden’s position as well in 2019. Yet now he refuses to answer the question.
Americans for Limited Government President Rick Manning today issued the following statement responding to former Vice President Joe Biden's refusal to answer the question about court packing:
"[P]acking the Supreme Court would be a wholesale attack on the independence of the Judiciary. The message from Joe Biden is clear, he will pick as many Supreme Court Justices as it takes to get the judicial outcomes that he demands. For Biden, as someone who spent a lifetime in the Senate, including his stint at the Senate Judiciary Committee, to so cavalierly dismiss judicial independence is shocking and revealing about his true character. While some claim that they didn’t learn anything at the debates, the sad truth is, we learned that a Joe Biden presidency will not be constrained by the fundamental minority rights that were set forth by the Constitution and James Madison.”

Moderate No More: Biden on Court Packing
Some say Democrat Party Nominee Vice President Biden is a moderate or center left. Whether he was once or not, he is now going as far left as he can. In the past Joe Biden was adamant against adding Justices to the Supreme Court, also known as Court Packing.
Biden stated in October, 2019:
"I would not get into court packing … We begin to lose any credibility the court has at all."
But now:

On Joe Biden’s Supreme Court Nonsense and Flip-Flop-Flips
President Trump has laid out in detail his potential nominees to the Supreme Court. Later this week he will formally nominate a new Supreme Court Justice. Meanwhile, Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden refuses to announce his list despite an earlier promise to do so.
Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden on Sunday said he won’t release his list of prospective Supreme Court nominees until he is elected, giving off a set of reasons he believes “could influence that person’s decision” ahead of the November election despite pressure from both sides him to do so. . . .
However, Biden pledged in June to release his list of potential Supreme Court nominees, telling reporters that his campaign is “putting together a list of a group of African American women who are qualified and have the experience.” He added that the list wouldn’t release until each nominees are vetted but declined to give a timeline of when the list would be revealed.
The liberal group Demand Justice released its own shortlist of 17 Black women it says would make ideal justices, calling on Biden to follow Trump’s lead in releasing a list.

To follow up on yesterday, we thought we would break down some details of President Trump’s new list of judges. President Trump released his list because voters deserve a clear understanding of a candidate’s vision of the direction of the Supreme Court. Vice President Biden needs to explain what kind of judges he would select, for as President Trump stated: “Unfortunately, there is a growing radical-left movement that rejects the principle of equal treatment under law. If this extreme movement is granted a majority on the Supreme Court, it will fundamentally transform America without a single vote of Congress.”
Briefly on the new list. It includes three Senators, Tom Cotton, Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley, who are very well known and leading conservatives. Instead let’s first focus on the current judges on the list:

This afternoon, President Trump announced 20 additional distinguished attorneys and judges to the list of nominees he would consider for any future Supreme Court vacancy. Polling showed that then-candidate Trump's list in 2016 was important to many voters who supported him, and he kept his promise of choosing off the list when he nominated Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh to the Court. Further, President Trump selected from his list for many of his highly qualified nominees to lower federal courts during his first term, providing unprecedented transparency regarding judicial nominations from a presidential candidate.
By contrast, Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden has not released a list, nor has he indicated that he will release one, leaving voters to wonder whom he would consider for any Supreme Court vacancy. Would a President Biden choose off the troubling Demand Justice list or the secret Alliance for Justice list? Both possibilities should terrify any American who values the rule of law.

Earlier today, White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany announced that the President will soon be releasing an updated list of conservatives that he would consider nominating the Supreme Court. While Joe Biden told reporters in June that his team was putting together a list of Black women that he would consider nominating to the Court, we haven't heard any updates from him or his campaign.

Yesterday, President Donald Trump visited Kenosha, Wisconsin to survey the damage caused be recent violent protests and to speak with community leaders. Attorney General Bill Barr and Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wold also joined the President on the visit. Their trip to Kenosha illustrates the President's commitment to public safety and law enforcement, while Joe Biden is unwilling to confront the reality that the far-left is fueling the fire — literally and figuratively — for violent protests across the country.

During his remarks at civil rights giant John Lewis's funeral last week, former President Barack Obama took advantage of the opportunity to argue that the Senate filibuster is a "Jim Crow relic" that should be abolished if it gets in the way of a Democrat-authored bill that seeks to restore a provision of the Voting Rights Act from passing. But President Obama himself has used the filibuster, most notably during the confirmation process of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito.
