Nevadans Shouldn't Have to Gamble on the Fairness of Their Elections

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth Bradford El-Rassy · December 03, 2020 5:49 PM

What's going on in Nevada? Despite Clark County Registrar Joe Gloria's recommendation to hold a special election for the District County Commissioner race after a narrow 10-vote victory by Democrat Ross Miller, the County Commission has instead voted to certify the results. County Registrar Gloria reasoned that the outcome of the race could not be certain until "unexplained discrepancies" were remedied. The only way to do this? Hold a special election.

More Vote by Mail Problems and Chaos

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth Bradford El-Rassy · October 20, 2020 10:12 AM

As Election Day approaches, the serious election administration problems associated with the rapid increase of voting by-mail continue. These issues have been predicted by election experts on the right and left for many months, including the Lawyers Democracy Fund, but liberal pundits have continued to push voting by mail as the only way to vote this fall:

The COVID-19 public health crisis has led to a dramatic increase in the demand for mail voting.  While Lawyers Democracy Fund (LDF) asserts that the best and most secure way to cast a ballot is in person at a polling location, LDF understands the necessity for certain voters to have the option to vote by mail.  However, when states and jurisdictions attempt to increase the volume of mail voting without proper election infrastructure or without maintaining important election integrity safeguards, LDF sees no greater threat to safe, honest, and secure elections. . . .

Voting in person at a polling location decreases the chances of a ballot getting thrown out for simple errors.  Nationwide, hundreds of thousands of mail ballots were rejected in 2018 because of mail delays, minor technical defects, and voter errors – issues that do not occur with in-person voting.  Mail ballots are three times as likely to be rejected for various reasons than ballots cast in person, making voting in person a far more effective method of voting to ensure one’s vote actually counts.

States Should Look to Those Who Have Implemented Absentee Ballot Systems with Safety and Security in Mind

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth Bradford El-Rassy · August 13, 2020 4:03 PM

As November quickly approaches, Democrats are using every tactic they can to alter how elections are administered, including pushing for a radical departure from the status quo when it comes to absentee voting.

It's Time to Stop Nevada Democrats' Unconstitutional Election Power Grab

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth Bradford El-Rassy · August 05, 2020 4:11 PM

On Tuesday, Donald J. Trump for President, Inc., the Republican National Committee, and the Nevada Republican Party sued Nevada Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske, challenging Assembly Bill 4 (AB4), which was signed into law by Governor Steve Sisolak on Monday after a brief debate on Sunday regarding the 60-page, single-spaced bill.  The bill represents yet another instance of Democrats taking advantage of the COVID-19 pandemic to permanently alter the way elections are run throughout the country.

Conservative Justices Dissent in Nevada Church Case

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth Bradford El-Rassy · July 27, 2020 7:15 PM

On Friday, the Supreme Court denied a Nevada church's emergency application for injunctive relief to allow the church to operate beyond the limit placed on them by Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak.  The church was challenging the Governor's Directive 021 which allows large groups at restaurants, bars, casinos, gyms, bowling alleys, indoor amusement parks, water parks, and pools as long as they remain at a 50% fire-code capacity limit. However, places of worship are limited to a 50-person limit regardless of the available facilities or precautions taken. The church alleges that the Governor's directive violates the Free Exercise and Free Speech Clauses of the First Amendment. While the Court's denial of the church's application was a single sentence long, the 4 dissenting Justices wrote 3 separate dissents totaling 24 pages expressing their concerns over the Governor's blatant disregard for religious Nevadans' Constitutional rights.

Cuomo and Elias Uncover "Voter Suppression" . . . by Democrats

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth Bradford El-Rassy · June 11, 2020 7:18 PM

The bias of the mainstream media has been exposed again after CNN's Chris Cuomo pushed the inaccurate Democrat talking points that problems with Georgia's primary were caused by so called "voter suppression" tactics by the Republican Secretary of State. Georgia's Statewide Voting Implementation Manager Gabriel Sterling dismantled Cuomo's narrative by explaining the cause of the issues on Tuesday – mishandling of the elections process during the COVID-19 pandemic by local officials. Many of these officials are Democrats.

Democrats Use Inconsistent Standards to Gut Voting Integrity

Posted on Blog by Michael Thielen · April 20, 2020 6:27 PM

At the same time Democrats are pushing federal support of vote by mail or even bills calling for nationwide vote by mail, an interesting thing happened in Nevada.  As RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel points out in an excellent op-ed that discussed Democrat Party lawyer Marc Elias' tactics:

Democrats demand in-person voting be expanded in Nevada, after just claiming it was too dangerous to go to the polls in Wisconsin. Last week, Elias called in-person voting a “national disgrace.” Now, Elias says “converting to an all-mail election in a matter of weeks” is impossible, and voting must be expanded “safely in person.” Nice of them to catch up to the fact that one-size-fits-all nationalized mail-in voting is a bad idea.

Electoral College Protects the Voice of Smaller States

Posted on Blog by Robert Sinners · July 23, 2019 3:43 PM

The future of the Electoral College has become an increasingly important topic as the 2020 presidential election approaches. Democratic candidates Cory Booker, Pete Buttigieg, Kirsten Gillibrand, Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren have all called for the Electoral College to be abolished. What the candidates fail to tell their supporters is that abolishing the Electoral College is a dangerous prospect that would hurt the voice of smaller states in presidential elections.
