Alvin Bragg’s Political Prosecution of Trump Sets Dangerous Precedent

Posted on Blog by Republican National Lawyers Association (RNLA) · June 25, 2024 12:24 PM

A newly-released poll by Monmouth University reveals former President Trump’s guilty verdict in DA Alvin Bragg’s politically motivated prosecution may have little impact on voters, but expert witnesses in a recent House Judiciary Committee hearing say the trial sets a dangerous precedent that could have far-reaching implications for not only our justice system, but for future elections.

Has Alvin Bragg Entered the Legal Danger Zone?

Posted on Blog by Republican National Lawyers Association (RNLA) · April 16, 2024 4:06 PM

While it is tempting to focus on the biases of Manhattan District Attorney (DA) Alvin Bragg and Judge Juan Merchan as the so-called New York hush money case is litigated against former President Donald Trump, the better approach is to follow the facts of the case, and explain why the DA's case is wrong as a matter of law.

Democrats Reap the Consequences of Their Radical Policies in D.C. and Massachusetts

Posted on Blog by Republican National Lawyers Association (RNLA) · August 08, 2023 6:30 PM

Last week, the Oakland NAACP shocked many for speaking out against the dangerous soft-on-crime policies of Leftist city leaders and demanding that a "state of emergency" be declared in response to the city's ongoing crime crisis. Now, a Democrat member of the D.C. City Council is calling for the National Guard to be called in in response to a recent onslaught of violent crime in our nation's capital.

With three dead in mass shooting last night, August in Washington DC is off to a murderous start. These are MPD year-to-date stats. Murder, robbery, car theft rising fast. https://t.co/IJY1Mcx5mc https://t.co/d8ZKmQXHnW pic.twitter.com/uLbdYD1LtQ

Posted on Blog by Republican National Lawyers Association (RNLA) · July 31, 2023 10:16 PM

The Oakland, California chapter of the NAACP has broken with its typical support for leftist policies and released a letter condemning the city's rogue prosecutor and the "defund the police" movement for the city's ongoing crime crisis. The Washington Free Beacon reported:

The Oakland NAACP released a statement Thursday calling for state and local elected leaders to declare a "state of emergency" as a result of increasing violent crime in the California city.

The Heat is Turning Up Against Rogue Prosecutors

Posted on Blog by Republican National Lawyers Association (RNLA) · June 07, 2023 9:05 PM

The heat is being turned up against soft-on-crime, rogue prosecutors after two of the most prominent figures in the movement have been forced to resign in recent weeks. Notoriously bad St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner left office abruptly in May:

Gardner, a Democrat, had been facing an ouster effort by Missouri’s attorney general and was under scrutiny from Republican-led state lawmakers when she announced May 4 that she would resign, effective June 1. But on Tuesday, Gardner announced the end of her tenure. . .

Politically-Motivated DA Uses Failed Theory to Indict Trump

Posted on Blog by Republican National Lawyers Association (RNLA) · April 06, 2023 10:39 AM

For the first time in history, a former U.S. president has been indicted on criminal charges. This is the culmination of the open political targeting of former President Donald Trump by rogue prosecutor Alvin Bragg. As Cully Stimson and John Malcolm explained, Bragg's legal theory behind the charges is about as good as you'd expect from a prosecutor who's made a name for himself for failing at his job:

During a post-arraignment press conference, Bragg struggled to explain the theory behind the first prosecution of a former president of the United States, stating that Trump “was paying Michael Cohen for fictitious legal services to cover up an actual crime committed the prior year.”

Rogue Leftist Prosecutors Have No Shame

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth El-Rassy · February 27, 2023 8:45 PM

Rogue leftist prosecutors have proven time and time again that they have no shame in imposing their radical agenda on the jurisdictions they've been elected or appointed to protect. This time, Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón has suspended a line prosecutor allegedly for referring to a controversial defendant by his birth pronouns:

Los Angeles district attorney George Gascon has suspended a prosecutor for allegedly referring to a convicted child molester and suspected murderer by his birth name and the pronouns that correspond to his sex, rather than the name and pronouns he adopted after coming out as transgender.

San Francisco Liberals Reject Soft-on-Crime DA

Posted on Blog by Republican National Lawyers Association (RNLA) · June 08, 2022 2:19 PM

In California's primary election yesterday, San Francisco voters overwhelmingly voted to recall rogue liberal prosecutor Chesa Boudin, whose soft-on-crime policies have led to rising crime across the city. The headlines say it all – Progressive San Francisco DA recalled by voters in one of nation's most liberal cities:

San Francisco voted to recall Boudin with 61%, compared to 39% who wanted him to stay as the district attorney, according to results at the time the Associated Press called the race.

[Boudin] faced an onslaught of criticism over his progressive criminal justice policies as those supporting his recall pointed to an increased murder rate, violent crime, shoplifting, burglaries, and an open-air drug trade as reasons to vote for his removal from office.
