Rasmussen: "Election Reform is a Winning Issue for Republicans"

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth El-Rassy · November 29, 2021 5:18 PM

Despite popular support for commonsense voter integrity measures, the Left has doubled down on their plan for a federal takeover of elections.

We’re 1 year from the midterms and just months away from many primaries, yet Democrats are still trying to upend our election system by pushing for a federal takeover. This is not only unconstitutional, but it would create chaos for voters and undermine the process. pic.twitter.com/9Mv9erZJMb

Another election reform bill is headed to the desk of a Republican governor. On Tuesday, the Texas Legislature approved SB 1 after Democrats attempted to block the legislation by fleeing the state in July. The New York Post reported:

The Texas Senate voted 18-13 along party lines to pass the measure after the House voted 80-41 to approve it.

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth El-Rassy · July 21, 2021 5:41 PM

In case you missed it, another Democrat magically switched positions on voter ID. This time it was the third in charge House Democrat, James Clyburn. As recent as last year, Clyburn called requiring voters to present ID, "voter suppression."

Senate Dems Hit the Road in Their Quest to Federalize Elections

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth El-Rassy · July 19, 2021 11:26 PM

Earlier today, Senate Rules Democrats took their "phony hysteria" about state election laws "on the road" and held a field hearing in Atlanta, Georgia. The hearing was Democrats' latest stunt in their quest to enact a federal takeover of elections. As Republican Leader Mitch McConnell pointed out:

“Democrats’ fake outrage may have driven jobs and opportunities out of the state of Georgia, but I’m sure Georgians will appreciate that Democrats are bringing their own partisan circus to town instead.

TX Dems Flee Their Responsibilities via Party Bus and Private Jets

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth El-Rassy · July 13, 2021 4:57 PM

For the second time this year, Democratic members of the Texas Legislature fled the state in protest of proposed election reforms so that the Texas House would be unable to conduct official business due to a lack of quorum. This time, they did so via party bus and private jet. The Federalist reported:

Texas Democrats throwing a tantrum over an election integrity bill are claiming their swift exit from the state on private jets was a “sacrifice” in their fight against “voter suppression” in the state.

Rep. Steil Calls Out VP for Thinking Rural Americans are Incapable of Photocopying their ID

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth El-Rassy · July 12, 2021 4:16 PM

During today's Committee on House Administration hearing discussing the Elections Clause, Rep. Brian Steil called out Vice President Kamala Harris for insinuating that rural Americans are incapable of complying with voter ID laws. In a recent interview for BET, Vice President Harris argued that rural Americans are unable to photocopy their ID. This is just another example of Democrats' ludicrous claims that voter ID laws amount to "voter suppression."

ICYMI: TX Dems Kill Election Reform by Walking Out on Leg Session

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth El-Rassy · June 01, 2021 6:00 PM

On Sunday night, the Texas Legislature came to a screeching halt in the final hours of the legislative session when Democrat lawmakers abandoned the House floor to procedurally prevent the House from completing its business just before sine die. This move prevented an election reform package, SB 7, from being voted on due to a lack of quorum. The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board wrote:

As the Texas legislative session drew near its end Sunday, lawmakers appeared set to pass a bill overhauling the state’s elections, until Democrats did one final maneuver: They snuck out of the building. “Members, take your key and leave the chamber discreetly,” a Democratic leader in the state House told his caucus in a 10:35 p.m. text message.

RNLA Co-Chair Harmeet Dhillon: Even Dems Know that Voter ID/List Maintenance Boost Confidence

Posted on Blog by Republican National Lawyers Association (RNLA) · May 24, 2021 4:37 PM

Speaking before the Committee on House Administration Subcommittee on Elections today, RNLA Co-Chair Harmeet Dhillon said it best:

"The unspoken truth is that all voters, including Democrats, know that Voter ID and voter list maintenance are important tools to maintain voter confidence in election administration and the results they produce. Democrat politicians and radical activists undermine that valuable confidence when they fail to support these commonsense and widely-supported tools."

Throughout the hearing, Democrat members of the Subcommittee and their witnesses attacked and undermined widely-supported election integrity laws like requiring voter ID and voter list maintenance—two procedures that dramatically increase voter confidence in elections.
