Biden Administration Stonewalling Efforts to Prevent Federal Election Interference

Posted on Blog by Republican National Lawyers Association (RNLA) · December 07, 2023 8:54 PM

The Biden administration continues to hide its efforts to interfere with elections. In a recent letter authored by Sen. Bill Hagerty, Senate Republicans are demanding the White House and relevant agencies provide copies of their plans to implement Executive Order 14019 entitled “Promoting Access to Voting.” The letter was co-signed by 23 senators, including Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell.

The WH has refused to be transparent about the use of taxpayer funds to implement EO 14019—instructing federal agencies to engage in voter mobilization. I led my colleagues in calling out Biden for ignoring our demands for transparency on taxpayer-funded voter-turnout plans. pic.twitter.com/TH87VB6pLR

Voter Registration Project: A Very Partisan Nonpartisan Group

Posted on Blog by Michael Thielen · August 18, 2023 2:32 PM

A bombshell report by Capital Research Center details how the "nonpartisan" Voter Registration Project worked to only benefit the Democrats—contrary to law—in their voter registration efforts. This is extremely problematic as an article from The Daily Caller explained:

“Encouraging qualified voters to exercise their right to vote is a noble purpose, served by legitimate nonpartisan, nonprofit organizations, and community leaders around the country,” Lawyers Democracy Fund Executive Director Lisa Dixon, who was not involved in CRC’s report, told the DCNF. “But when supposedly nonpartisan organizations conduct get-out-the-vote efforts in a manner that seems designed to benefit one political party, voters are rightly skeptical of how fair and nonpartisan such efforts are.”

Biden Admin Still Won't Answer Questions Over Elections Executive Order

Posted on Blog by Elizabeth El-Rassy · May 11, 2022 5:22 PM

It's been over a year since the Biden Administration issued the Executive Order on Promoting Access to Voting, E.O. 14019. However, the Biden Administration has failed to be forthcoming with the public about how it plans to implement the order which requires federal agencies to "consider ways to expand citizens’ opportunities to register to vote and to obtain information about, and participate in, the electoral process." As RNLA previously reported, Committee on House Administration Ranking Member Rodney Davis led other Republican Members of Congress in asking the Biden Administration for more details on how it plans to implement the order:

[T]he above signed members are concerned that Democrats continue to fundamentally misunderstand the role of the federal government in elections, as the EO states, “It is the responsibility of the Federal Government to expand access to, and education about, voter registration and election information, and to combat misinformation, in order to enable all eligible Americans to participate in our democracy.” However, the Constitution gives the States the primary authority to set election law and administer elections.

Democrats' Latest Effort at a Federal Takeover of Our Elections

Posted on Blog by Michael Thielen · March 29, 2022 9:35 PM

Led by House Administration Ranking Member Rodney Davis, nine members of Congress have written a letter to Domestic Policy Director Susan Rice and OMB Director Shalanda Young to inquire and express concerns about President Biden’s Executive Order 14019 on “Promoting Access to Voting.” The members of Congress are correct to do so for a multitude of reasons, but we will focus on three.

Has California's Secretary of State Forsaken his Duty and Become a Glorified Clerk?

Posted on Blog by Lisa Dixon · October 01, 2019 7:14 PM

RNLA Vice President for Communications and 2018 Republican Lawyer of the Year Harmeet Dhillon, along with RNLA member Mark Meuser, is once again standing up for election integrity and the rule of law in California.  They filed a request for declaratory and indicative relief in the Eastern District of California today alleging that Democratic Secretary of State Alex Padilla's failure to use available resources to confirm that people are U.S. citizens prior to registering them to vote violates the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 (NVRA):

CA Will Investigate DMV After Latest Mishandling of Voter Registrations

Posted on Blog by Lisa Dixon · February 11, 2019 8:03 PM

California has agreed via settlement to investigate its DMV's latest mishandling of voter registration information:

On Dec. 14, DMV officials revealed that staff members had not transmitted voter registration files for 589 people whose applications or updated applications were filled out before the close of registration for the Nov. 6 statewide election. At the time, state officials could not confirm whether any of those voters had been turned away on election day, or if any had cast last-minute provisional ballots that were rejected in the final tally.

Monday’s settlement raises the possibility that a full investigation of the delayed voter registration documents could reveal races in which the outcome might have changed had those voters been allowed to participate. State officials now have 60 days to complete an investigation into the identity of those voters and why DMV staff members failed to transmit the files in a timely fashion.

After an 11-month investigation, the Texas Attorney General's office announced they had found nearly 100,000 non-citizens erroneously listed in state voter rolls. More shockingly, more than half of those non-citizens have reportedly voted illegally at least once in an election since registering. Fox News reports:

The 2018 election saw the continuance of the Democrats' attempts at vote fraud, voter disenfranchisement, and ballot mishandling at the county and state levels. Republicans also experienced an attack on the their First Amendment rights, but luckily Republican free speech advocates are on their side. The below posts show exactly how Democrats have influenced elections and interfered with individuals' rights.
