My name is John Gonta and rather than adding a resume to this biography section, I would like to explain who I am and what I do, and what my values and goals are all about. I am a Veteran, an Attorney and a Conservative. I am the Precinct Delegate for the City of Monroe, Michigan Precinct 3 South. I have been a licensed Attorney in the State of Michigan since 1991. My main area of practice is Criminal Defense. I represent primarily indigent criminal Defendants in Monroe County and I have a proven record of victories. I also practice Tax Law and I have been licensed in the Federal Tax Court Since 2013. As a Political Conservative, I believe in the reduction of the size of all government and the lowering of all taxes. As a criminal defense attorney, I believe in affording Defendants their rights at all stages of the proceedings. As a Constitutional Originalist, I think the courts, prosecutors and defense attorneys should apply laws as they are written by the legislature, not legislate themselves.
