BIO

My practice focuses on providing strategic and regulatory advice to private companies and local governments, with an emphasis on energy, transportation and telecommunication issues. I was elected to the Georgia Public Service Commission in 1992 and served to 2011. As the first Republican to win a statewide election for a Georgia constitutional office since Reconstruction I worked aggressively to develop competitive markets for utility and technology services and reduce the regulatory burden on businesses. I grew up in DeKalb County, Georgia and attended public schools. I graduated from Oglthorpe University and the University of Georgia School of Law.
