Democrats are scared of what Declassifying Documents of Spying on Trump Campaign will Reveal

Last week, President Trump authorized Attorney General Bill Barr to declassify documents related to the surveillance of the Trump campaign in 2016.

Suddenly, the same Democrats who had been relentlessly complaining over the few and necessary redactions in the Mueller report for lack of transparency – were now actually blasting Trump for being too transparent?

California Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff went as far as to say,

“While Trump stonewalls the public from learning the truth about his obstruction of justice, Trump and Barr conspire to weaponize law enforcement and classified information against their political enemies. The coverup has entered a new and dangerous phase. This is un-American.”

The whiplash is enough to make America’s head spin. One has to wonder – why are Democrats so scared of what could be revealed? As Elad Hakim put it…

The American public was fed a false Russia-collusion narrative for years. The investigation into this false narrative was very costly and further polarized our country. Moreover, the narrative compromised the credibility of some of the nation’s most sacred and respected institutions, including the FBI and CIA.

It is difficult to comprehend why any member of Congress would object to the president’s decision to disclose the truth behind one of the biggest scandals in U.S. history.

Self-preservation is the only reason Democrats could object to declassifying spy gate docs.

Based on the troubling facts that we already know, Democrats are understandably nervous about what else the American people will learn once the declassified material is released. It could create major problems for them in next year’s election.

It is inconceivable that any member of Congress would turn down the opportunity to learn the truth behind one of the largest political scandals in U.S. history.

If Congress is so concerned with transparency and oversight, the release of this information could provide a treasure trove of new information. The concern among some could lie, not in the act of releasing the documents, per se, but in what the documents will ultimately reveal.

Contrary to Schiff’s characterization, there is nothing “un-American” about exposing a possible, and likely, coup to remove a duly elected president from office. To the contrary, it would be irresponsible not to disclose this information.

Clearly, Democrats are not after the truth, they are after the President. And now that they are the ones in the hot seat, they are scared to death of what could be revealed. Expect to continue to see Democrats criticizing the President for his calls of transparency as they attempt to cover up what really happened in 2016.

It’s time, however, for Americans to know the truth so that faith and confidence can be restored in our nation’s elections.
