It has been my honor to serve as RNLA’s President for 2021.
While we have faced many difficulties this year, we have also had many triumphs.
We resumed in-person operations and had our biggest National Election Law Seminar ever in Atlanta, Georgia this summer. Furthermore, we held our much-delayed National Policy Conference and 35th Anniversary Celebration in Arlington, Virginia this fall. We also hosted a great reception the evening before the Conference with Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell.
Speaking of Republican Leaders, we hosted House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy at our 2021 Republican Lawyer of the Year Reception honoring Elliot Berke on November 5, in Washington, D.C.
We’ll have our members-only Holiday Reception in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, December 9. Details will be forthcoming in the coming weeks. We hope to see you there.
RNLA also continued its very successful webinar program, hosting discussions on issues of current interest to our members. Past topics include critical race theory, fighting federal overreach of our elections, online censorship of conservatives, legal challenges to vaccine mandates, and Biden’s border crisis. Guests have included Senator Roger Wicker, Ilya Shapiro, Hans von Spakovsky and Vivek Ramaswamy. For the latest webinar check out our events page.
Miss a webinar? No worries. Most of the webinars are recorded and available to our members to watch later. Simply log into the “Members” page of www.rnla.org. This is also where you can update your public RNLA profile. Many members have found that their profiles generate business.
For members looking for new opportunities, RNLA also maintains a “jobs list” to assist members with their job search and advertise openings at our members’ firms. If you are interested in receiving jobs list emails or advertising an opening, please email [email protected].
One of RNLA’s missions is open, fair, and honest elections. This year, important elections took place in Virginia and New Jersey. RNLA plays an important role advising state party leadership on election integrity efforts in those states. We look forward to continuing these efforts in 2022.
RNLA frequently posts on social media on issues of importance to Republican lawyers. Follow RNLA on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Parler, and Gettr (@TheRepLawyer)!
We look forward to seeing you again soon at one of our events.
Onward,
David K. Bowsher
RNLA President
