Join the RNLA for a continuing legal education course (CLE) on recent changes to New York ballot access laws and redistricting. Accreditation for 1.2 hours of CLE credit has been approved by the New Jersey Board on Continuing Legal Education. New Jersey is a Group "B" reciprocal jurisdiction with the state of New York.

Speaker Bios:

John J. Faso served in the 115th Congress from 2017-2019 representing the 19th Congressional District in upstate New York.  Faso served on the House Agriculture, Budget, and Transportation & Infrastructure Committees. Faso previously served in the New York State Assembly and was Republican leader from 1998-2002. He was the GOP candidate for Governor of New York in 2006.

Since leaving Congress, Faso has worked as a business consultant, while maintaining a private law practice.  Faso was spokesman for plaintiffs in the landmark 2022 case which successfully challenged the congressional and legislative redistricting before the New York State Court of Appeals. 

He is a graduate of the State University of New York at Brockport and Georgetown University Law Center.  He and his wife, Mary Frances, reside in Kinderhook, New York.

Joe Burns was born and raised in Central New York. Shortly after graduating from Syracuse University and Albany Law School, he began working in the New York State Senate for Senator John A. DeFrancisco (R-Syracuse), the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

After working for Sen. DeFrancisco for four years, Joe was appointed to be the Deputy Director of Election Operations at the New York State Board of Elections.

Since leaving the New York State Board of Elections in 2015, Joe has represented a number of candidates and party committees in election cases throughout New York State . In 2016, Joe served as the vice chair of the Erie County Charter Revision Commission, and in 2021, Joe served as a member of the Erie County Advisory Commission on Reapportionment.

Joe currently resides in the Town of Amherst, a suburb of Buffalo, New York.
