Washington, D.C. – The Republican National Lawyers Association (RNLA) is pleased to announce that its seventh Robert J. Horn Chairman’s Award will be bestowed on Chris Marston during the 22nd National Election Law Seminar in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on August 25-26, 2023.
The Robert J. Horn Chairman’s Award is an award presented to individuals for nationally distinguished service to the citizens of the United States of America for protecting the honesty and accuracy of elections. It is presented in honor of the late Founding Chairman, who succeeded in significantly advancing the integrity of elections throughout his professional lifetime by founding and promoting the Republican National Lawyers Association.
RNLA Chair Harmeet Dhillon explained why Chris Marston was selected: “Chris is as an inspiring example for Republican lawyers across the country. Chris’s innovative ideas for improving election integrity efforts have had a positive impact, increasing the efficiency of election integrity operations nationwide. Chris’s leadership is of tremendous value to the conservative movement, and this honor is well-deserved!”
RNC Election Integrity Director Christina Norton added: “Congratulations to Chris Marston for receiving the Chairman’s Award! Chris truly exemplifies excellence, humility, and an unwavering dedication to the election integrity cause. He has been an unsung hero in the Republican Party. For years, Chris has educated and equipped thousands of conservative observers and lawyers in protecting transparent and honest elections in Virginia and nationwide.”
RNLA Executive Director Michael Thielen said: “Chris is a master of organization and strategy. His efforts at creating the ‘Virginia model’ for election integrity are the gold standard for states to make sure elections are open, fair and honest. He is the type of leader for which the Bob Horn Chairman’s Award was created.”
Chris provides financial and compliance services to Republican campaigns and party committees, conservative political action committees, tax exempt organizations, and corporate and trade association PACs. He founded Election CFO to provide these services in 2009 after serving as an assistant secretary of Education in the George W. Bush Administration. He is also Of Counsel at Dunlap Bennett & Ludwig, focusing his practice on Political and Election Law.
Chris has served in a variety of leadership capacities for RNLA and is currently a member of the Board of Governors. Additionally, he volunteers as general counsel of the Republican Party of Virginia and is currently the Treasurer of the Alexandria Republican City Committee.
Chris is a graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center and Dartmouth College.
