FRED F. MURRAY Recent political credentials: I was a full time volunteer at Bush-Cheney '04 and the RNC (I served on the RNC 72 Hour Legal Task Force for 3 weeks in Cleveland, Ohio working on challenges to voter registrations, litigation over the election operations, and I supervised eighteen teams of lawyers and a number of poll observers in a district of heavily Democratic precincts in East Cleveland where we have experienced election fraud and even physical intimidation in the past.) I also served as a full time volunteer for the Inaugural Committee working on the Bush Friends and Family events. Professional credentials: Fred Murray is an attorney and lobbyist in Washington, D.C. He has held various positions over the course of his career, as General Counsel and Director of Tax Affairs for the Tax Executives Institute, Inc. and as Vice President for Tax Policy at the National Foreign Trade Council in Washington, D.C., member organizations representing the largest corporate enterprises in the global economy. He has served as legislative counsel to the Internal Revenue Service, where he participated in the development of legislation and regulations, and in representing the Department and the Internal Revenue Service in legislative drafting, and in hearings and investigative oversight, conducted by the budget and appropriations committees, the judiciary committees, and the tax writing committees of the Congress. Before that he was in private law and accounting practice for 17 years, much of that time as a partner in a large, nationally-known law firm. He has served as Advisor to the International Tax Working Group of the U.S. Senate Finance Committee. He was Chair of the Committee of Formation of Tax Policy for the ABA Tax Section, and is currently a member of its Government Relations and technical Government Submissions committees. He is a former member of the Board of Trustees of the American Tax Policy Institute, a prior Chair of the FBA Tax Section, and is an elected member of the American Law Institute. He is a member of the Tax Management Advisory Board, and a member of the Commissioner並_s Advisory Council, Department of Taxation and Finance, State of New York. He has also taught in law schools and graduate business school, as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center, the University of Texas School of Law, Rice University, the University of Houston Law Center. In addition, he also previously lectured and spoken on tax and international law and business matters in many programs and conferences presented by various organizations in the U.S. and abroad. He serves in various civic and charitable organizations, and as a Catholic Charities Runner in the Marine Corps Marathon.
