• Resolved divorce, paternity, contested custody, and related cases.
• State court-appointed member of the Court Annexed Arbitration Program.

Chief of the Trials Division 1990 to 1993
• First and only female Chief of the Trials Division managing ten trial attorneys handling over 200 cases.
• Lead or supervising counsel for select cases of significant public interest and concern.

• Appointed by the United States District Court of Hawai‘i to its Court-Appointed Attorneys List.
• Represented criminal defendants in numerous cases including as sole trial attorney for eight jury trials and one jury-waived trial to verdict in state and federal courts.


CITY AND COUNTY OF HONOLULU – OFFICE OF THE CORPORATION COUNSEL HONOLULU, HAWAI‘I
Deputy Corporation Counsel 1976 to 1985
• Resolved hundreds of cases in defense of the City and County of Honolulu and its employees.
• Sole or lead for 30 civil jury trials to verdict, mainly police defense, saving taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars.
• Won verdict in U.S. District Court for the Honolulu Police Department as sole trial attorney in its first wrongful death case, and personally argued the case before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, which upheld the verdict.


HONOLULU – OFFICE OF THE PROSECUTING ATTORNEY HONOLULU, HAWAI‘I
Deputy Prosecuting Attorney 1972 to 1976
• Secured conviction as first female attorney in Hawai‘i to prosecute a First-Degree Murder case.
• Served as the first woman Felony Team Captain and as sole trial attorney in 40 felony jury trials to verdict and in hundreds of misdemeanor cases.
• Wrote and argued several appellate cases before the Hawai‘i Supreme Court.

• Selected as the only female (of five interns) to serve in a Law Enforcement Assistance Act special program.
